What Would You Do with 100K Dec?

Yipppee!! Let's Spend some Dec!

I came across a great post the other day by @mistakili who was inspired by @jonnycoin to ask the simple question, "What would you do with 100K Dec?" I thought it was an excellent question, and I haven't got it out of my mind since, so I wanted to write up a post and perhaps we can start a trend, right? Maybe you also can write about "What YOU would do with 100K Dec?".

What's the Best Spending Strategy?

So, please remember I'm not giving financial advice here; I'm just a novice, folks. I would, however, think that you want to consider how you play Splinterlands in your quest to spend those Dark Energy Crystals. If you don't play the game much, but spend more time back and forth in the market, well then that would be where you want to focus. Perhaps you play quite a bit, so then you'll want to use the DEC wisely, right? But since this is all just a fantasy question. what does your HEART want to spend the money on? Let's chat.

Option 1: Land Plot

Johnnycoin said exactly what I was thinking: LAND! LAND would be what I want! We all know there's a limited amount of land, so my hope is to get some before it's too late. I keep watching the marketplace like a hawk circling a farm, just waiting for that moment when the price goes down just a little. It's happened of course, for a hot minute, but I didn't have the money then. If I had 100K DEC to spend, then I would buy that land and never look back! It's exactly what I'm hoping to get, and I've been working towards it for awhile now.

Option 2: Cards

Well, I want to throw in though, that if I had enough money I would also like to get the Ancient Lich card. It must seem random to you all; however, it was my first big card and I sold it because I definitely needed to, and the price has continued to climb for it, and I just wish I had held onto it, because it was my first. I suppose it's like that first love or something--you never get over him completely, do you? :) Ancient Lich is that card for me, so I just watch and see if his price will decrease and then I might snag him, but if I had 100K DEC to spend I could get several and level them up if I wanted! It's just a thought, but I would still perfect the land plot over nostalgia, and truly, land is a sort of sentimental thing for me anyways. If you've been following my posts you know I'm quite keen on a piece of land. It's some sort of romantic idea in me I suppose; it just seems to have value, and I would love to have land very much.

Option 3: Using 100K for Non-Card Players

So, what if you don't really play the cards much, you're just collecting them? Well, of course you could buy more cards, but you could also buy the NFTs that Splinterlands has now on splintertalk! I'll be talking about these more later, but I thought I'd mention it for you collectors out there!

There are SO many options for those who want to to spend 100K DEC if you've got it. What would you do? I think it's a great question to ask, and I'd love to know your thoughts about it! Let me know in the comments. I bet I missed something as well, so be sure to mention what you'd do and perhaps write your own blog post about it! I'd love to read it!

Thanks for reading!

I think I would split it between land, cards, SPT and SPS.
Maybe 30k in land because I think it will be a good source of income later.
20k on cards just to have fun :D But I would invest it mostly in newer cards because they will bring me good returns.
25k in SPT and SPS because I can get good returns with them, either by staking or delegating.
Ez 200k in a year xDD

I would hold the 100K DEC and get SPS airdropped for it. Then when Chaos Legion presale is released I would use the 100K DEC to buy presale booster packs and hopefully get some really cool add-ons that have been hinted at but not formally announced yet.

EEEK!! Yesss!! Now THAT's a BRILLIANT plan! ;) I cannot wait for the Chaos Legion presale stuff! I hope I have enough SPS to get those vouchers they mention!!

I keep watching the marketplace like a hawk circling a farm,

Ah! Me too....what puzzles me is that I’ve been watching the price of land rise since 20$, isn’t that just pathetic. Not it’s cost almost a fortune. I would love to have land too rosiew lol...

Interesting thoughts. Wish you all the luck

From the investment standpoint it looks like buying and staking SPS might be the best move. Also, investing in cards if you are going to play would make sense. The land is kind of a lottery and a big unknown at these prices so it might not make much sense. DEC might revert to the intended peg of 1000 to a $1, right now it is very overvalued, so while you might get great return on DEC in SPS airdrops you might loose a lot in DEC value. Another attractive option is to buy SPT tokens as you get 1/4 of SPT tokens in SPS airdrop points.

I definitely would want land it will be key to the game in the future, that said getting some cheap legendary reward cards is always tempting :) They will only go up in value later when they are out of print. Then get land from selling a few of those :P

That is funny Ancient Lich was my first big card too!

I still have mine though. Something a little sentimental about it.
