Splinterlands | Season 47 Results & Earnings Report
Season 47 just ended and I managed to once again land inside the top 30 of the Gold league getting 2 packs as rewards.
Overall things continue to be good for Splinterlands with the total market cap of all cards recently reaching a peak high along with the number of daily active players now reaching well above 6000 on average.

A top 20 Spot that would have given 5 packs instead of 2 certainly would have been possible if I avoided some mistakes and played more games. I did set my longest winning steak of 58 Mactches without a loss which says more about the game instead of my skills.

The 0 Mana Furious Chicken remains the most played card which the Chain Golem as a strong second since it just an excellent tank that tends to be hard to kill for the opponents. The Sacred Unicorn also showed to be really useful with a 27 on 27 perfect win-rate along with the Lone Boatman which does an excellent job repairing armor.

I did manage to pull a legendary card which have become a lot more expensive this season from the reward chests. I also got some golden regulars.
Overall another season ended having some fun with the game growing my account a bit stronger in the process. Things certainly are getting more repetitive though and I still miss the fact that the number of battles where skill makes the difference are extremely limited.

Important: Treat games in the first place as games and not as investment opportunities, Splinterlands allows you to earn some money and get good returns but you are much better off flipping burgers in Mcdonalds when looking at the money earned for the time invested. Investing also comes with a risk of card values going down.

Am with you with on the skill part, although when it does play a role and you beat a higher leveled team it does feel good. Good progress!
Yes, the potential for it to actually be a really fun and challenging game is there for sure. It just rarely comes out. Building a card collection and learning how to play was quite fun, right now it all just feels like a pay2win grind for some rewards most days which is quite sad.
Yeah it feels that way sometimes, still.. I'm making progress although it sometimes feels slow. That's also why I like using the reports, it shows the hard numbers even if you feel different about it at times.

Except for the run of accounts with their emails compromised. Hopefully it's just related to a database leak from someone like Facebook and not a Splinterlands issue directly.
I must say: your win/loss ratio is downright impressive! Surely you could make it into the Top 10 if you just played a few more games?
I'm not sure, I only have Level 5 Summoners so the top-ranked players have a clear edge over me when it comes down to average card power. Also when you win a match near the top of the rankings you earn 3 rank points while you most of the time lose 30+ in case you lose a match especially against players who are ranked below you. I also don't play 100% optimal since I often bend my deck around the daily quest. I have been thinking about doing one season playing my A-game each time while playing 30+ matches a day. Maybe I'll do that in season 49
It's interesting to hear about that dynamic. Somehow the game play in the Champions division is quite different: I tend to get a lot of players with scores close to me, so having a positive win ratio to begin with already helps me a long way towards getting into the Top 50.
I guess the number of competitors in lower divisions at the very top may be smaller, but it might take many more matches to actually make it that high up?
