How often do you have the rare opportunity to be a self made man?

I've repeatedly stated that the Steem World is a reflection of the real world just in a smaller scale. And that is a fact. There might be only around ~ 1.3 mill unique accounts but this is definitely a sample. And just like in real world, hence in Steem too, there are different types of people.

The ones that are helpful, scammers, rich people, poor people, those who see the greater picture, the ones who leech and so on and on. The list is big. But I'll try to focus on all the good things that are happening in the World thus in Steem too.

One of the biggest "wins" of those who proposed, designed, voted for and eventually implemented with HF 21/22 was that they managed to somehow unite all of the daily active users again. Until now the system was broken. But now...at least we have a common goal. And that is Steem to thrive. Climb the rankings and show to the rest of the world that the Steem ecosystem, this alive entity, is where they should have been involved in in the first place.

There is a hell of work to be done but Rome wasn't built in a single day...

But let's cut to the chase.

World isn't fair. Otherwise all thieves, rapists, drug dealers...would be behind bars, right? And just because it isn't fair, not all people have equal opportunities in various aspects of life.

It's not the same thing being born in Sri Lanka where you struggle to survive and 99% of people experience the ultimate poverty and being born in Switzerland, where you'll probably be raised with no concerns at all. Actually there is a big difference, don't you think? Now someone can blame their luck or God himself but that shouldn't be a barrier to your dreams.

What does it have to do with Steem?

Since 99.99% of the world's population isn't born in Switzerland neither in Sri Lanka, more or less we all "suffer" the same fate. Broken economy...unemployment...minimum wages...corruption...

As a person who live in the SouthEast side of Europe, and specifically in Greece we might suffer a bit more compared to the rest of the Europeans -financially wise-. We should thank our incompetent and corrupted governments of the last 40+ years for that. They turned a heaven's place on Earth into a living hell.

That means that there are rare to zero possibilities to run your own business and be successful, unless you are extremely lucky and work like a slave in an attempt to not fail. And by slave I mean like 16+ hours of work in your own store only to earn what you would earn if you were just an employee and flipping burgers at McDonald's. Trust me I know...

But just like nonameslefttouse wrote some time ago, you have the rare benefit of being among the first adopters of Steem and build your business here.

Your blog is your business

And what you write there will attract "your clients" or will send them away once and for all, therefor you'll go bankrupt. So do you have a business plan? I am not here to judge people for their work. No one has that right. But I do have the right to skip your post/blog and search for something better.

So how about spend some more time and write something meaningful, something that might even help others? Is dropping a photo with a single line enough? I mean there are artists out there whose shots are amazing, but those very same artists decorate their posts with a super detailed description and often a story behind each of these shots. Now that, would definitely attract some "customers".

Do you see where this whole thing go? I don't know if you DID get the message but you DO have the opportunity to be a self made man here. To run your business/blog right here, in Steem and also be successful.

The rest is up to you...this time, you'll have no one to blame and it won't matter whether you were born in Switzerland or in Sri Lanka.

Tell me again, is there any other project out there who have offered you that deal?

Remember, rare opportunities come once...or maybe twice in a lifetime so make sure you grab it. You can thank HF 21 for that...

Cheers!

I'm from that part of the world you speak of, that one with a degenerative embezzling government, one of the worst. Some countries are even lucky to have a McDonalds, we dont...it could be sad and all buy it wont be a barrier for my dreams.

The internet has first provided us with the window into the rest of the world, if one uses it well. What is being offered here on Steem is unlike anything people where I'm from have seen before, such that majority are still in denial of the possibility that something as cryptocurrency even exists, I know this is common in many places too.

I chose to become more than just a content creator to learn a bunch of ropes of Steem, I've since recognized what is possible here and I don't take it for granted. Even with the little I understand a lot of people have no Idea what Im all on about.

My father is the worst, all he wants is for me to take out the money lol. In his dreams though. Damn its sometimes hard when majority of people around you just dont get.

I feel like your saying that Steem is a microcosm of the business world and we have many of the advantages and disadvantages which exist in the real world. Your blog is your business and your brand. Every blog is representing you to the world. So when you finish it and your about to hit publish, you should ask yourself one question; Does this post to a good job of representing me and my talents to the world?
If someone wanted to know how talented and creative I am, would this post be a good representation of me?

If the answer is yes, then hit publish. If the answer is no, maybe the post needs more work.

Remember, your blog is your brand and becomes what your known for, so to a certain extent your image and the way you are perceived are in your hands.

Not only of the business world but you often see patterns of same mentality/attitude.

There are way too many factors in that equation...consistency...strong will...fun...faith...a decent quality of course. Nothing is guaranteed. But you/we have to do our best if this blockchain is to survive.

I find this statement very true and real:

World isn't fair. Otherwise all thieves, rapists, drug dealers...would be behind bars, right? And just because it isn't fair, not all people have equal opportunities in various aspects of life.

There are so many innocent people behind bars for a crime they know nothing about. The inequality in this world is undeniable, which is why I love cryptocurrencies, were everyone has a voice.

As long as we won't get lost in our way to decentralization, everything will go fine.

ahh that hurt deeply! From what i experienced and know if you wanna play it fair and go by the law and regulations starting a business in our country you are by day one losing money.... Hopefully we might have a chance with Steemit at least all those who take it seriously

I know it's a bit off topic, but we should thank ourselves first. The parliament is just a mirror of the society.
