Just $1.5M more by Justin and it's game over

The battle of consensus Witnesses has taken too long than expected.

Steem community though got some success by enforcing a stalemate for hardfork with over 4 of their Witnesses in the top 20 list; it failed to capture the super majority of 17.

This I'd say is happening despite the capacity & potential of the community. If the Steem community members who voted 8 or 10 Witnesses in top-20, they can very well vote for all top 20 slots of their preference. Remember, everyone can vote for up to 30 Witnesses with their SP. But many have chosen not to use all their 30 votes ...or even 17 of them in favour of 17 leading community Witnesses.

So we are still struggling to get to that magical no. of 17. But we can't complain about the time as we got more than enough time to mobilize the community.

But what's stopping Justin Sun to win all the 20 slots?

For record, Sun needs less than 10M SP i.e. about $1.5M to put all his 20 Witnessess and rule the blockchain consensus.

Why isn't he doing that? Could it be that his team doesn't have the required HF code to shorten the power down time ready yet? Or do you think he doesn't have means to invest another $1.5 M for it?

Well, tomorrow and the day after Huobi & Binance respectively will receive the 1/13th of their 40M SP through power down process and I hope these Exchanges will get more liquid STEEM for anyone to buy.

But as opposed to Sun's 10M STEEM, Steem community members need to mobilize as much as 35M SP to put 17 of their Witnesses in top 20.

Thus the battle of investment seems to be in Sun's favour. And Justin Sun can probably do that any moment whenever his team is ready to execute his code.

Or perhaps he is buying in more time hoping that more community members & dapps come in his support. After all, what will he do with a blockchain without any community. So I hope, he may be negotiating with many dapps as "migration" of dapps to his side will automatically bring the community surrounding those dapps. So he not only need to buy STEEM for powering up but also to buy or fund some successful dapps on this chain.

It would be interesting to watch which dapps move by his side. I guess some of the dapps would like to accept some enticing offer from Sun after a prolonged bear phase. Dapps mean business and would move wherever they see more profit and cash flow into their business by whatsoever means.

But I wish, this ends soon ...whatever has to be done / happen, it should unfold soon. It's already a long wait for me and it's painful for me to keep hanging in this setup!

I wonder, why can't we use all our 30 votes and vote in for a super majority before Justin powers up his accounts!
