  • Mowi’s temporary French smokehouse set for February 2020 opening (Undercurrent News)

Norwegian salmon farmer Mowi is planning to start operations at its temporary 4,400SQM French plant at the end of February 2020, with production set to run until July 2021.

Sustainable Solutions – Foodtech:

  • McDonald’s to offer first fully vegan meal in UK in Q1 2020 (AgFunderNews)

The ‘Veganuary’ trend (eating a vegan diet in January) is catching the attention of fast-food giants such as McDonalds, who have now announced their first fully vegan meal to be launched on January second. The company has seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options over the last 12m.

Sustainable Solutions – Plastics

  • Mattel wants 100 percent recycled, recyclable or bio-based plastic by 2030 (Plastic News)

Toy company Mattel Inc. is aiming to make all of its plastic toys and packaging recyclable or made from bio-based plastic by 2030.

Questioning how sustainable a vegan but chemical laden, over processed, GMO soy filled McDonalds "veganuary" meal would really be. I smell greenwashing and vegan marketing.

This is what I am affraid, we take out the meat for ecological reasons and end up eating too many chemicals which might be worse for our health!

Let's see but I would be careful for sure.
