Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Saturday Savers Club with Susie Saver.

What's been happening in your world this week? anything exciting or fun? Tell us in the comments - you could win some EDS tokens 😁.

But first, this week's EDS winners!

Last week we had comments from @justclickindiva @solymi @chrisparis @jfang003 @erikah @ericburgoyne @alexvan @kaseldz @gillianpearce

I put them all in WheelofNames, spun the wheel (twice) and two winners came out:

@gillianpearce and @jfang003 - Congratulations!

Check your Hive Engine wallets Saturday Savers!

Thank you, everyone, for taking part in Saturday Savers Club.

More about EDS tokens

EDS tokens are a low-risk income token, ideal for people who want to save. There are only 20,000 and they were all sold at 1 Hive each, with guaranteed earnings of 12% each year.

Earnings come from powering up and leasing out the Hive that came from selling the tokens, plus earnings from posts and comments each week. Each EDS token is now worth about 1.09 Hive, a nice slow steady increase - that's what we like. EDS pays out every Monday evening: last week the pay out was equivalent to 14.55%, that's already nearly 3% higher than the original guarantee!

There are 480 EDS for sale at 1 Hive this week (correct at the time of writing).. Alternatively, you can put in a buy order at a lower price. Check the Hive-Engine market.

Back to business ...

We're going to be here every Saturday through the year growing a little savings honey pot, if you have plans for saving or getting to a different place this time next year - maybe $5 Hive by the end of the year 🤑?

Whatever it is, stick with Susie Saver through the year and we'll get there. Along the way, we'll share lots of tips and tricks for saving and how to get the knack of making your money work for you and not the other way round.

Let's Get Started

We're using the 365 Penny A Day Challenge framework for the Saturday Savers Club. We're aiming to save £667 worth of pennies by the end of the year.

You can use the sheet below to track your progress:

Right click on the image, save it to your computer and then print it out.

Okay, let's check in ...

1. Check Progress

Each week, we're going to check in through this post and see where we are up to. Our target for today, 27th February, was 3.85p. Next week, we'll be saving 4.34p and by Saturday we'll have savings of 21.48p.

Each week, I'll be buying Hive for @susie-saver's account with the pennies we've saved.

Here's this week's results - 3.85p buys 11.770 Hive.

Screenshot 308.png

Still growing - 84 Hive in eight weeks! Plus we're earning inflation on powered up Hive: see how our 50HP has increased? Overall, the account is worth $27.16 at today's prices.

How much did you save this week? Did you meet your target? Or did you save even more?

Being accountable to another person or a group is a great way to motivate yourself to save (or anything you want to achieve). Of course, you need the right kind of people around you - ones that think what you're trying to do is worth doing ... or at least fun 😁.

Sign up here with us to start your savings journey:

  • just leave a comment below if you want to join the challenge.
  • follow @eddie-earner so you never miss a post (Eddie has lots of ideas about how to make money - he's the earner, I'm the saver - you'll like his posts).
  • share this post if you think your followers might be interested.

2. The Golden Pig Tip

Every week, we're going to share a Golden Pig Tip for saving. By the time you've tried them all you'll have £670 saved.

Last week, we started making our savings work for us by powering up 50 Hive to start benefiting from Hive inflation.

This Week's Golden Pig Tip

This week's tip is:

Invest your savings to earn a passive income

Last week, we talked about the two different ways you could earn from your savings - active and passive income.

For earning an active income, we looked at downloading an app like @actifit to earn Hive and AFIT - @actifit's tribe token. Did anyone try this? Have your earnings increased?

For earning a passive income, we looked at investing in some tokens:

  • SPI - today's ask = 5.9 Hive, pays in SPI
  • LBI - today's ask = 1.1 LEO (from @lbi-token), dividends paused
  • EDS - today's ask = 1 Hive, guaranteed 12% dividend

Which one would you invest in? Are there any other income tokens that you would like? Or should @susie-saver hang on to her Hive? Tell us why in the comments!

Have you got a favourite savings tip? Tell us in the comments.

And today is always a good day to start saving - you can start on Day 1 or make up the first nine weeks to catch up with @susie-saver.

That's it for this week. Hope you've enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you next Saturday with progress so far and our next Golden Pig tip.

@eddie-earner content contributed by @silverstackeruk and @shanibeer.
Today's post by @shanibeer writing as @susie-saver.

EDS, @eddie-earner's income token, is part of the SPinvest family including SPI (@spinvest), LBI (@lbi-token) and the @spinvest-leo account - a cool club in the making. Spinvest Family Motto: Get Rich Slowly.

Another week passed and I'm still nowhere with this plan. For me this was BTC week, some savings went into BTC but I have good news as well. Finally I've listed some of my stuff I don't need, now fingers crossed :)

Congrats to the winners!

Thanks for the token. Every little helps!

I'm a bit all over the place with my passive income tokens. I realised this week that there are always going to be more opportunities so I need to be more systematic in what I invest in and less scattered.

One of the biggest problems I have with Leofinance is there is no search function so, for example, when I want to find out the information about a specific token I'm holding, I end up doing a Google search which often doesn't work.

An example, I have a few UTOPIS. I've read in posts that it pays out daily but I'm not receiving daily dividends. I can't find any of the original information and have no idea who to contact to check. I've already wasted a ton of time on just this token. It's very frustrating.

So in future, if I buy any tokens I'm going to make a note of what they are supposed to pay out, how often, expected APR etc. I need to be to have a benchmark to work with because I want to invest more in fewer tokens going forward.

I agree - although hard to do!

Will @susie-saver have its own token?

Unlikely, she's part of the EDS family 🙂.
What additional benefits do you think a @susie-saver token would bring?

Maybe it could slowly buyback and burn EDS.
What do you think?

Awesome. I do have my fair share of LBI, SPI and EDS.
Other than that BRO is a good opportunity. Utopis recently started out and models seems good. Other tokens like Index and dehedge are also paying out some nice dividends.

I'm invested at the moment in LBI and SPI. EDS looks tempting if compounded weekly, it brings a yearly APY of 12,734%, which is not bad.

I'm doing also the penny challenge (where I use €) for my kid and put each day something apart according to the plan. After the year passes, it will be invested in another opportunity.

EDS is a good starter token for savers, I think. still a very good low entry price plus dividends on earnings. Lots of pros and cons, though, LBI and SPI have buyback, EDS does not.

It will be interesting to see which investment opportunity you plump for at the end of the year 🙂

I did not know that EDS does not have a buyback, but who cares, the plan is long term on all, to live out of dividends.

"LBI - demande du jour = 1,1 Hive (de @lbi-token)"
It's 1,1 LEO not HIVE so more expensive...
SPI is More diversified for me it's better.

You are correct! (I have edited the post) - also slightly more complicated with two steps: hive -> leo -> lbi. Unless you earn some LEO, in which case it is a natural follow through 😁.

Yes, SPI is run on good principles.

Thank you for the EDS token. It was my first EDS token so now you can say that the holders of EDS has increased.

I like Actifit as you get some extra income for walking around. I make sure to post my activity everyday and it has helped my SPORTS stake increase as well. My Rplanet staking plan has reduced it's earning. Primarily because they reduced the rewards I get from staking. However, I plan to continue staking in the hopes that one day I will generate enough that it moons.
