Define...bull run.

bullrun.jpg

I've probably mentioned it too many times thus far but being newcomer in the crypto-stage like myself back in the early days of 2018 while the previous bull-run was in full effect, was probably a blessing and a curse, both at the same time.

You see when one's first impressions about crypto is that anything is possible and that a few weeks is all it takes to get rich / or financially independent if their timing is right, which is true, they start having great expectations from the projects they are involved into and quite often, big dreams too.

And then, just when you think that sooner or later those great expectations will be fulfilled, reality strikes hard, and you end up experiencing a really long and painful crypto winter, during which many lose their faith and quit trying, while others grab the opportunity and separate the wheat from the chaff.

So you realize that in order to become financially independent is far from easy. Besides if it was easy, everyone would do it, right? Yet how many of us fall into that category? Few, really few.

So you start educating yourself. You dig deeper and read between the lines to find all these little details that could turn a project into the next big thing...and you become a part of it, you invest your money, your time and efforts, hoping that when the new bull run is at your doorstep you'll be fully prepared this time.

Everyone has been waiting for this new bull run...

...and it could start at any given moment. So...define "bull run" plz...Gimme an idea what a bull run is to you.

  • Is it when BTC starts crashing one ATH after another?
  • Is it after BTC crashes its ATH and money start flowing into the alt projects you are invested in?
  • Is it an opportunity to empty your bags and be left with no crypto holdings at all?
  • Is it your shot to riches?
  • Is it a mix of all the above?

No matter how many times I've discussed it with people on and off chain I keep getting different answers.

Just to let you know....

During the previous bull run, many of the projects you might be familiar with wasn't even born...

There was no BSV...nor YFI...nor SUSHI not even LEO and definitely not HIVE just to name a few.

Speaking of HIVE...

Hive is just 7 months old. We all assume that when the time comes it will probably perform like STEEM did in 2018, aka a beautiful 20x - 50x because that's what the 2018 bull run taught us. Right? And if it doesn't?

I'll tell you what a bull run is to me...

It's an opportunity to sell no more than 45% of the tokens I've accumulated for the past 3 years and remain invested into the projects that I believe that they have an even greater future in the years to come than a temporary massive rally. By no means...a big sell off or ending up being with completely empty bags and start from scratch.

Crypto will sooner or later rule the world...so you better have a say when the time comes...

Now I hope you let me know in the comment section below what will you do when the time comes.

There's a reason why we call it a bull run...and after every single one, prices returned to their "normal" levels...just a little bit higher every time.

Food for thought and...discussion.

Have a good one people...and stay safe.

Cheers!

I have never been involved in a bull run and have been waiting to experience it. My thoughts were when something like Bitcoin rises for a long period reaching an ATH followed by selling then triggering the Alts to have a run for themselves achieving new ATH's. Maybe that is not the case and hoping we see one soon to understand it first hand.

I've experienced it but as an observer...

3 years later you've probably accumulated a lot of coins. What will you do when the time comes?

I suppose it depends on so many things really. I may take 30 percent and sell but the bulk I will keep as I don't believe the next Bull run will take another 3 years. I will definitely be adding more coins to my portfolio with the ones I sell and maybe experiment on some small investments.
Have you thought about what you are going to do?

others grab the opportunity and separate the wheat from the chaff.

I kind of done that thanks to Steem and the tons of hours spent in this crypto sphere.

Is it an opportunity to empty your bags and be left with no crypto holdings at all?

Kind of, but not entirely. It feels odd to not hold anything at all after such mad times, but frustrating to see your bags weighing less and less as prices go down as well.

Taking profits is definitely what I'm going to do, but some coins will probably won't even get closer to where I bought them so holding will not put me in the position of owning under water bags...

Don't know how much of a logic that makes, but I tried.

For me, Bull run is the mix of all those that you have listed... But, the other question is more interesting... How will I react when I see it coming... :)

I would like to do as you said... Sell around the half, and push the other half... But this quote that you said is more significant for me...

There's a reason why we call it a bull run...and after every single one, prices returned to their "normal" levels...just a little bit higher every time.

I'm trying to look "beyond the bullrun"... What will happen after it... And, it should happen before, that we have after... Tbh, I'm not sure that it will be in a form as it was the last 2-3 times, as it's hard to believe so much volatility in that short period of time... even for crypto.... but we will see...

I digress a bit... So, I hope that "after the bullrun" that "normal" levels will be enough that I can live from my crypto... and I don't mean doing nothing, but living from passive earnings, staking, etc...

Will see what happens... One is for sure... I'm way better ready this time... lol...

I would also probably sell about a half to cover some of my payments and remain active in the community.

Hopefully, I won't have to sell and financials will sort out with different income streams.

Anyway. It's an interesting thought before going to sleep.

Peace.

For me, a Bullrun is if the positions I have are in brrrrrrrrrrrrr zone.

But I think without major adjustments it will be hart hive will moon soon. Steem was years ago new and fresh and because of that sexy to invest.

Time will tell. We see us on the same moon ;)

Wow. Thanks for this inspiring post. I go with your definition of a bull run. The irony is that a bull run happens incrementally and many will not even be aware when it comes around- they get carried away by greed that it will keep going higher until the market crashes before their faces. E.g those who bought BTC at the bottom below $4k some months ago, can call 15.5k a bull market. Everything depends on when the sell target is reached. Lol

True. How about those who bought BTC at its ATH or Hive at $1 and so on...?

When does bull run kick in for them?

Really, I think that those few category of people are in the bull market, round-the-clock. Lol. More seriously, I don't think those ones can honestly call any market bear, of course from a personal point of view.
