If you still want to grow your Hive account / holdings....

I know that Hive has dipped so much that many people have started losing their faith in the project. When day after day after day, all one sees is red candles and price declining 5% - 10% it's really difficult to control their emotions and often the rage investors feel, who keep wondering why this is happening.

There are many theories why this is happening and I don't really want to delve into none of them. This is simply the result of really high offer vs really low demand.

For some strange reason people think it's not really worth it to hold HIVE let alone power their tokens up. So I'll borrow a line from @theycallmedan's latest vlog where he extensively discussed about Hive's future and also gave a few great examples regarding ETH and BTC.

Hive is technologically superior to 99.9% of all crypto projects right there. The only thing one can do is build, build, build and explain the tools they've built. You don't change or compromise to attract investors. Investors change their attitude and come to you when they see the value.

And that's exactly the stage we are at right now. We've completed a pretty bumpy HF which makes things way easier for those who want to build. Don't give up on Hive because when all pieces fall in place the technology we are used to use every single day and things we take for granted like instant and fee less transactions will drive people and especially devs to flock to Hive.

That being said...

...and exactly because I still think that one day Hive will be competing with the big names of the industry and I also like to put my money where my mouth is when I am involved in projects that I feel they have potential...

In a previous post I mentioned that I've stopped buying Hive the moment I crossed the 50K HP mark.

But I just couldn't resist. Some people suggest that it might end up being a 5 cent utility token...

I on the other hand feel that Hive at 11 cents is a steal. Could it be from extensive dumping from all those who patiently waited for so many months to receive their tokens and were initially excluded from the airdrop and now receive it via the DHO?

It could be...or not...

So how about Hive at 8.8 cents? Is that a steal or what?

There's a great buying opportunity at Huobi a few days now. Usually when there's a wallet maintenance on an exchange, they disable deposits and withdrawals. And there's usually some serious price action.

Price might be 10% or 20% or even more up compared to the exchanges whose wallets are enabled, or, traders might trade it 10% - 20% or more down. That's what is taking place right now at Huobi.

The average price on every exchange that has their Hive wallets enabled is 11 cents, or around 810 Sats, while on Huobi...price is 9 cents or 646 Sats.

20201103 22_55_240.00000658 HIVE_BTC Today bitcoin price Trend chart realtime marketHuobi Globa.png

Which is a crazy opportunity for those who want to buy some cheap Hive but also for those who want to take advantage of the given arbitrage opportunity.

I know you can't take advantage of this arbitrage immediately but only after wallets are enabled again. Still...When wallets are back on, Hive's price will adjust to the average of the other exchanges and not the other way around...just saying.

Long story short...

...I don't have a Huobi account so I reached out a trustworthy person, sent them BTC on their Huobi address and he placed 2 buy orders for me.

Screenshot_20201103_at_14.19.09.png

One of the orders has already been filled. 5509 brand new Hive tokens at 654 Sats. The second one is at 575 Sats and it will probably take a while.

So those of you who want to dump your Hive tokens and use Huobi ...meet me there.. on the order book.

Have a good one...

Cheers.

No doubt the project is great, but there's too few that know about it and that's Hive's major problem.

Despite that I subscribe to your theory regarding the dump attributed to DHO folks that finally got their hands on their HIVE. I also have the feeling that it won't take too long before HIVE will gradually move up again.

This period of time we can call the capitulation of Hive, among others as well. Once BTC gets to $15,000 things will change drastically on the market.

We still can't market tools we don't have...can we?

Buy it you have the money
Earn if you have the content
Hive is still a gift that keeps giving.
I still have fate in this project, regardless of the market price.

Yeah nothing on them, total fluff yet people on here salivate over them...

until they fall off a cliff of course; then it is crickets.

The fact people can earn Hive (and other tokens) is huge. People overlook how important that truly is.

Much of the world cannot buy cryptocurrency. That means they have to use alternative methods. Getting rewarded for gaming or social media activity is a great way to get involved.

True that, did Ned and Dan really know when they launched Steem that theoretically one could make a living or even get rich under specific circumstances without investing a penny? 1 Steem / Hive is all it takes

The vision was great, the initiation launch was okay, the ongoing development sucked.

Here is where we are. I keep mentioned that we are a little more than 7 months without Steemit Inc. This is a point that I dont think many consider, how far we truly came in such a short period of time.

Well I certainly took advantage of snaffling up a little cheap Hive along with you!

Careful though, or that lower limit order of yours will never fulfil!

Meh I have a feeling that sooner or later there will be a dumb guy who will just kill his Hive because he wasn't patient enough till wallets are back on. I hope so...

Good luck in withdrawing those tokens from HUOBI.
I have been waiting there over 6 weeks, and today I gave up. Got to dump all HIVE there, into BTC and ETH, so I could withdraw all funds to zero from HUOBI.
There are many rumors on HUOBI having big problems with China regulators.
To big risk for me to lose ~2 BTC, so I ran away even at significant loss.

lol

A minute ago I just answered to revise.leo telling him that sooner or later someone will dump their Hive. Could it be you who filled my orders?

I think that despite their problems they will give people time to withdraw their tokens.

You never know. I survived Mt.Gox, and 9 other CEX, which were hacked or exit-scam. Don't wanted to get my first time here...
BTW, I got a bunch of your LEO's on LEODEX. Thanks !

I see a lot of blogs about the decreasing price of Hive.
When I look at the charts there was a giant peak end of april and is the price going down since then. Everybody says it's really cheap now, but is it really? What is a reasonable price for Hive?

Reasonable price? There is no such thing in crypto.

Was it reasonable when Steem was worth $8.5?

I know the price is what it is made by the investors, but what is reasonable in terms of earnings for your efforts to create good content. That also depends on your personal situation and probably a lot of other factors, but I'm just curious what people think it should be.
20 cents? 50? A dollar?

I don't really know. I just know that 10 cents is pretty low. Maybe you could make a poll. It would be interesting to see what people think

I don't know how to create a poll on here (newbie), but it surely would be interesting what people think.

Search for dpoll.xyz.

@emrebeyler could guide you...it's still running, right?

Is it possible to edit a poll afterwards @emrebeyler ?
I accidentally submitted the poll (I don't know how) before adding all the options.

I think poll editing has some bugs at the moment. It's only possible if nobody is answered to poll, yet.

I tried yesterday before anyone answered the poll yet but also got some error messages. Too bad. Better luck next time. Thanks.

People seem to confuse price with value.

Dan can make statements like he does since he takes the time to learn what is going on. I guarantee 90% of all the posts about the price decline and "OMG Hive is screwed" did not even listen to the latest developer call. That one call ought to give people insight into what is going on in the minds of Dan N from Blocktrades.

It all is about the layer 2 but, unfortunately, there is a lot of base layer code to clean up.

However, as a little carrot to hang out there, instead of focusing upon price, how about 1 second transaction times on Hive?

It is possible (although not a top priority).

That's exactly the reason behind non Hive promotion atm. Build first...have everything set and then market your product and amaze the world.

I want riches and I want it now is pretty wrong mindset

Listening to that developer call, there is still code from 2013/2014 that hasnt even been optimized yet.

That is how much they are having to sift through of the old code and change it. It is as if they are almost rewriting the entire blockchain.

Yeah and the biggest problem for blocktrades, is that they cant find bugs until they get some of the bigger bugs out of the way. They just keep digging deeper, solving one problem and others pop up.

Such is the nature of coding, I just dont think most get that.

I don't mind scooping up a bit of that HIVE at even more of a discounted price on Huobi! Suspect the deposits/withdrawal issue is due to upgrading the wallets to be compatible with HF24 so will wait a bit to get these orders filled - just had one filled at 641, now next is 620, then 600 and an ambitious one at 500!

6 pence per HIVE is insanity!

Hehe. Good call mate. Mine was filled too. Got an ambitious one at 575 but I can see that as of now there are more than 30K orders in front of me...bad bad

Haha, yeah I think I may have to increase my orders, can't see it falling below 600 but there is very little support, 30k HIVE is only £1,800 which is hardly substantial, could easily get dumped in to!

I'm glad I'm not the only loony tune looking to buy up at these prices haha!

Hive does definitely feel more and more like a "utility token," and to a lot of people that's just not very sexy. "Not sexy," in the same way a stock like Applied Materials or Caterpillar are not sexy. No chance a utility token will suddenly go 10x in the next 3 weeks. And yet? If you'd bought $100K of Applied Materials stock 5 years ago, you'd have almost $350K today... with Caterpillar, about $265K. Which in a world of 1% APR savings accounts is some serious ching.

The question in my mind is just how far Hive has to fall before the "speculator/gamblers" throw in the towel and the "Value Investors" start scooping up cheap Hive to hold in the long term, seeing precisely the value of the overall project, rather than a pathway to next week's Lambo money. Bottom line for me is that I plan to be here for as long as the underlying project feels solid and full of potential.

Good luck on the continued arbitrage!

I, for one, am not that concerned about the price. It will rise again. I am more interested in accumulation and powering up.

Do you think I should withdraw it in the form of BTC now?

Bittrex withdrawals were enabled already and I was able to power up in time for #hivePUD. I agree and have bought a few dollars more. Will be increasing my HIVE holdings a little today. Still a long way to go to reach your 50K HIVE holdings but hoping to be able to get there one day. The value of the HIVE ecosystem will be the one to drive the value of the token up and attract the devs and investors to come. @theycallmedan is a smart guy, it would be nice to hear it with James Earl Jones voice-over though. :)
