Could this season be the one for Spurs?

Top of the League

After 11 of the 38 games Tottenham Hotspur is topping the Premier League. For some this may seem as a surprise, but not for me. José Mourinho did only 2 major incoming transfers this summer with Bergwijn and Hojbjerg and this after letting Vertonghen and Eriksen leave. That sounds like a gamble, but if you know Mourinho a little bit, you know that if someone can build a squad, it is him. He evaluated the current players and decided that most of what he needed was already there. He even let one of the key players go, Christian Eriksen, to adapt to a different style of play.

Right now, Tottenham Hotspur is a deadly counter team, they love to leave the ball with the opponent to attack with incredible pace and precision with players like Son, Delle Alli, Sissoko, Ndombele, ... that is a fierce strength. So, the question right now is, can Tottenham hold this for the rest of the season. Or will other teams turn out to be better? I don't know, but I really think they have a shot at winning this Premiership. Mostly due to José Mourinho and his tactical knowledge, and also because the opponents are having a hard time. Like Liverpool, that is plagued without a ton of injuries. And Manchester City, that just can't find the consistency a contender for the title needs.

I wish all the Spurs fans, the best of luck, and maybe, they can win a major prize again after 30 years of drought!

Sincerely,
