System Collapse? .:. dCity Investment Progress
I'm not sure if this is a great moment for doing my regular weekly dCity report blog post, or maybe the worst possible moment? If you take a look at the second image in this post, you will understand why I have doubts about that... If you think that the last week's chart was bad, well, I have bad news for you...
At the very beginning, I would like to clarify few things... dCity is a kind of investment game, which implies that you have to invest money (crypto, or however you want to call it) that you can play it... And that means that you can win, but you can also lose your investment... So, NEVER, but NEVER invest more than you can afford to lose... I have invested an amount that I can afford to lose, and I'm fine with that...
Screenshot from the game
So, now that we have that cleared, we can move on... I won't lie to you... The SIM graph doesn't look good at all, and everyone can acknowledge that... I see 2 possible scenarios in the future of dCity...
The first is that we see some new updates in the game, maybe new cards, maybe new sinks for the SIM token, or something third, and that that provoke SIM price to rise...
The other scenario is already happening... People are FUD-ing and selling cards, getting out from the game... If we don't see any improvements on the game, we all know the only destiny for it... The price can stop to drop at a certain time, but it will still go toward 0... In my opinion, if the game isn't sustainable at current prices, why would it be on some other? Changes are needed, and they are needed ASAP...
Yesterday we had the record taxes of all times... They were over 100%, which was just insane and awkward to see... Regarding my progress, I don't know if it is interesting to cover atm, but I didn't FUD too much... I try to avoid FOMO and FUD, and pulling out part of the investment out wouldn't be enough or satisfying, so I don't want to think about it...
My population went from 9727 to over 10K, to be more exact 10242 citizens... My base income is 7705 SIM, but as you can notice, I have a lot of unemployed citizens... The main reason for that that I'm thinking of changing the strategy, so I'm in a kind of "transition" period... Still not sure what way to go, but resolving the status of the complete game would probably help... So, I keep my head down and reinvest my earnings at the moment...
Screenshot Leodex.io
Regarding the price, the graph says it all... We hit the minimum price of 0.00136 Hive per token, and we will see if it will sink in the next few days...
All that I have stated in this post are MY OPINIONS and SPECULATIONS about the game... Please DYOR and give me your opinion in the comment section... I would like to hear what do you think about all this!
See you next week, governors!
Thank you for your valuable time,

You need to have 1000 ENGAGE, in order to use this service.
Thanks!
I don't know what is a smart move to do in your place... As you didn't start to play, maybe you should wait a bit, but on the other side, maybe now is the perfect moment... Check out pros and cons and DYOR... ;)

Hehehehe... Indeed we need a lot of wine to drown our sorrows... lol...
There is a way up, and there is hope, but, as I said, we need to see some improvements in the game... upgrades... I hope it will come...
Have a great Sunday!

Lol :) nice I would say. Sell sell sell... I getting ready to buy buy buy.
100% tex was crazy.... Hopefully the developers will comeup with new update soon...
I really hope that they will... I'm not sure how long the game can creep like this, but it would be nice to see the graph going in the opposite direction asap!

tokens. It seems some people are trying to pull out, because I've been moving up in the ranking automatically without doing much. That price is scary, last time I checked it was twice that much. Let's just wait and see how this plays out.
I have noticed that as well... I don't blame people for doing that... It is hard to be cold-blooded when there are no signals about development at all...

True. A clear roadmap would be much better than "coming soon".

tokens.I am not going to pull out and keep building this city but I am also not understanding the dip in SIM even with high taxes.
May be like rarej suggested, someone in top is cashing out.
People sell because they can. Anyone can decide to bugger off... but many might get surprised with the future.
It’s not the first time prices get low... and to me this is just a huge opportunity.
LIke @forykw said... It happens with a lot of coins/tokens... Yes, it is a game, but still, just a couple of updates, and it will be back on its feet... ;)
HODL! :)

tokens.I'm sure, as you and others mentioned, developments are necessary to reignite the interest in the game especially to those whom have been involved for a longer time.
Another thing that would help is this: public communication from the official account.
Did you know there isn't a post from @dcitygame since November? I know @gerber is always present on discord, which is a great thing, but not everyone hangs out on discord. And lack of communication from the official account doesn't look good.
People that code not always have time or patience to keep up with reporting. But I understand what you mean.
Gerber is pretty active I can tell you that. Just check the other channels.
It doesn't have to be him personally, does it? It just has to be posted on the official Hive account by someone who knows dCity from "inside".
I know most of the communication regarding dCity is on its Discord server, but it doesn't look good to have so long periods of silence from the official Hive account.

Yeah... I guess somehow agree with that. Even if I know how things go... any how... not something to be worried about if you guys wanna be more calm about it. But have a look around if you wanna do your own research.
I was and am pretty calm. Maybe my words may seem a little harsh at times, but that only comes from the fact that I want to emphasize something.
DYOR works for me. I am in the discord, and it's not once I found the answer to questions I had there.
But I doubt it works for everyone, that's why I said it's necessary to have a relatively active official Hive account.
People expect news, announcements, announcements of announcements, official positions on certain issues that affect the economy or of which enough players speak about etc.
In a word (actually two): PR. You can't do that on discord, imo. Since it's my opinion, I accept I might be wrong.

It's a strategy... as any other. Sometimes has great results, other times not so much.
But yep :P the important stuff is to have fun! 😀
I don't want to sound grumpy, but this is very often the case on Hive and all other projects... Coders aren't exactly user-friendly, but as you said, it can be someone else... dCity isn't a small game, it should have a team of people... Why stop in Beta, Alpha...
It looks a bit unprofessional that a lot of things are "unfinished" and last just a couple of months... If we look at most of the tribes, we can see a similar situation...

It's not by accident that LeoFinance and Splinterlands are so dominant.

.The game is in a difficult situation and people are pulling their money out which makest he price dip even more. On the other hand there are still 260'000 Hive in the reward pot and there is still a lot of money to be made. I continue to build with the sim I recieve a hibrid strategy that goes for sim and rank :-)
This is a big truth... If there is big money inside, that usually means that someone knows somethings... So, follow the lead... :) :)

tokens.I don’t understand why people get stressed about this. For me it’s a huge opportunity to buy cheap SIM.
People wanna make continuous streams of income without understanding the attributes of the game.
For example... how long would it take for the ranking pool to get exhausted? What would happen if SIM goes near 0? I can tell you something for sure...
I will be buying tones of it!
I know it’s hard for new players to think long term. But I would say that at the moment it might be one of their best investments. I would be crazy 😜 if I could start dcity with these prices!!!
I paid a lot more than this.
I am with you on this. I am not selling SIM only buying more cheap cards that people are dumping
That was exactly my thought when I wrote that pulling out wouldn't be enough... so, diving deeper... :)
Just bought a couple of factories... Or someone put the wrong price, or I just was lucky to catch it... I have solved my unemployment rate... lol...

Having bids is supper cool for catch ups that sometimes are almost free. 🤩
I have never used them... Will poke around and see how it works...
oops... I missed the upvote slider... You just got a 100% CTP upvote :P
Damn... you have lots of those mate! Hopefully I will accumulate some too once COM starts feeding some.

tokens.With 3rd edition it'll go up again I guess
Exactly! It should be the case... I hope we will see 3rd edition cards... and maybe it's better like this... to shake out the weak hands... :)

tokens.Even though it sucks watching it go down I'm with what @forykw said.
It is an opportunity to buy cheap and get cards that people are selling low for them.
I just hope they will come to a consensus and try not to break the game for good lol
Let's hope for the best!

We can compare this with Bitcoin, or some other crypto... It went down to 3-4-5K... I was buying... as I know it is TOO low... and I knew that it will go up... This situation can be looked through that glasses and we can build up our cities, new updated comes, and we are living happily forever... :) :)
But, there is a big difference between Bitcoin and dCity... One is an "unbreakable" blockchain, the other is a "breakable" game... Like I said in the post, I'm not calling for FOMO or FUD, just to be more responsible with your money...
Btw, if someone FOMO or FUD, that means that it HAS invested more than it should... ;)

tokens.the bread of one, the death of another. Bad translation of a swedish word-play but the essence is that this a opportunity for some, and the death for some else.
I like that one... I know something similar in another language... It's like "Until one gets dark, the other one can't see the light"
And I agree with that... One person sees something like the end, and the other like a great beginning... ;)
Thanks for the comment!
