The Hardest Decision
I have no idea why this topic is coming back to me over and over again... I thought that I have said what I have about it in my previous vlogs where I was talking about suggested decisions, or in some of my previous ones... But, it looks that I didn't...
Somewhere in the comment section of one of the posts, @benthomaswwd said something interesting about leaving his children to make their own decisions about their future... If you are a parent, or you just remember the time when you were 17-18 years old, how was it to make a life-changing decision? You had to choose about a University, or starting to work... Or, if you are a parent, will you involve yourself in making this decision for your child?
In the end, it all comes to what Ben said, they (children) will live their life by that decision... It is the right way to do to leave them to make it... We, as parents will not live their lives...
And then, as usual, my brain was untangling out other things connected with decisions, not just in life, but also business involved... How it is important to make them, and what is the hardest decision to make... What are the options, and which way to go is the right one...
I have made my observation on this topic in this video... Please check it out, and leave a comment about your point of view... Maybe some personal story?

Amen, Zoltan! I honestly don't know how anyone could have put it better...
Decision making is such an important key to unlocking the path you choose in life & in business. Being human & experiencing different things, some are good & some are bad, but at least we can own them when we do.
It's sad but when we choose to not make a decision, as you said, we fool ourselves but also we miss out on so much. The regret reminds us of what could have been or might not have been (for the better). I definitely made a few of those in my life & still wonder occasionally about that....
One way I have grown is to make a "yes or no" decision no matter what. If I don't want to right away, I give myself a deadline to do so. It sounds funny but it really helps me. Usually, if I am hesitant to say yes, that tells me what my decision is already..
You are right - we all have potential to do amazing things so we need to keep striving & making those informed decisions so we can become even better versions of ourselves as we go through life...

I did create this vlog, but that doesn't mean that I don't do that... As a matter of fact, I do a lot of "overthinking"... and in a lack of time, prolonging the time for making a decision... which leads to a missed opportunity... Happened a lot of times, and will probably happen... It's something that I have to work on... a lot...

I think it depends a little whether a parent should involve themselves in a child's decision.
If the child is clearly making a bad decision then I think it is a parents obligation to try to influence that decision in a positive way.
A silent decision is not always saying no to something sometimes it is saying yes to it.
In elections it will be the default decision whether you like it or not.
But the best is a vocal decision.

Hmmm... This sounds like a personal experience... So, did you talking this as a parent, or as a child with a bad decision? 🤣
Bad, I do agree that it can be the case... and sometimes it happens with an adults also... But, in the end, you can's stop the unstoppable...

You don't know if you can influence something unless you try.
But this should be done out of love for your child, and not for personal reasons.
We could take this outside a parent child relationship to.
It could be a friend or a spouse.
Personally, I hate ambiguity, so I like to just pick a path and forge ahead for better or worse. Sometimes I have to backtrack from a bad choice, but if the choice is between 2 good things, I will just go with my gut instinct and then own that decision and make it work.
Agree with you and I would like to be more determined! I do that "delay" thing often, more than I would like...
And regarding the bad choices... Well, everyone made them... Someones do that rarely, others more often, but that has to happen... In the end, those are our choices, and we have to live with them, or fix them... :)

Hey my friend, a nice topic has been touched upon by you.
Good one, and yes, it's better to leave the decision making to children when they are ready.
But, it's also important we guide them when we feel they are into a wrong direction.
Countries like I live in (India it is :) ), where most of us follow nuclear family type, it's important that elders take the decision about the family and even about the children and guide them but, after a certain age, parents doesn't interfere much in the decision taken by children unless they have to.

Wow very well said Zoltan, I honestly have not thought about this topic in the way that when we do not make a decision we have already said no, but we keep thinking about it and many times regret it, I will try to keep this in mind in the future to always make a decision right away, or at least as Pixie said to make a deadline if I really can't decide right away, stay awesome.
Well, I have fallen into that trap many times... As I said in another comment, overthinking is my problem, and maybe, doing things very slowly... lol... Yes, it can be beneficial, but also, it can be contra-productive when I don't make a decision...
We all probably do that... But, I think that our life would be much easier if we could "make up our mind" when it is needed!

Thanks for the mention Zoltan @ph1102, i would also like to add that from a very young age we have always given our children choices and asked them what they want to happen.
It is about training them to decide for themselves and have the confidence to make descisions for themselves.
Our eldest was a straight A student who is now starting her own family, our other 2 daughters are both in college one doing make up effects and one doing business and finance.
Our son the youngest has just started secondary education so will be interesting to see the decisions he makes he says he wants to be an engineer.
Don't know if we are right, i just know we are not wrong LOL
Both me and the wife was lived on the streets of London and never had choices.
It looks that you and your wife have done a good job! Be proud on your children and on possibility that you gave to them... That they have a choice!
