The Man From Earth was one of the movies that I came across while I was searching for a movie in the parallel universes genre, which I added to my watch-list. Nevertheless, I was waiting for planets, stars, space, time and so on, the movie turned out different than what I expected.

John Oldman, a professor of history at the university, moves on suddenly at the certain times in his life. Again when it's time to move on; a biologist, a psychologist, an archaeologist, an anthropologist and a religious teachers as well as a student from the university come to him to say goodbye. The movie begins here. John tells them that he is a Cro-Magnon (Ancestor of the Modern Man) who is 14,000 years old. Later the subject goes from Sumerians, Babylonians, Romans, Buddha up to Jesus. I think that's why his surname is Oldman. John begins to tell what he has witnessed in 14,000 years, in a question-and-answer form, in a room until the end of the movie. Therefore, it reminded me of the movie Cohorence. Movies set in one location can be boring for some, but I like such movies. Also, no need to have good actors.

The movie is extremely original as science fiction and can be watched over again. If you have the critical point of view that is intended to be given in the movie, or if you are inclined, be sure to watch it. If watched without prejudice, it could change people's thoughts, even their perspective on life.

John impressed the audience so much that he had to say what he had told was a lie to end the matter, at the end of the movie. People believe whatever they want to believe. This shows how difficult it is to criticize and change some things. In fact, some things we know to be true are actually based on simple foundations.

Loved it when I saw it first. It's been many years since. I still remember some of the arguments and the atmosphere.
