Walk to the Post Office [Part I]

Note: I was in the middle of this post when my browser accidentally closed and I lost all my work, so I had to do this again. I decided to split the post into two.

Let me share with you that walk to the post office. I live nearby, but I don't often go, unless I was mailing some postcards, like in this case. I would usually send out postcards every two months or once a quarter. At the same time, I also needed to run an errand for my daughter.

Enjoy my visual story.

I took this photo while aboard a moving jeepney. I don't usually take out my phone when traveling, but it was a lovely sight and I needed a photo. My destination was Escolta.

It was a brief errand, so I stopped for lunch first. That's fresh salad mix and it has become a favorite. It was also raining as I walked to the restaurant where I had my meal. I thought that I wouldn't be able to take photos for this walk, as I'm all for convenience. It wouldn't be so convenient to be walking with an umbrella and taking photos with my mobile.

As if in answer to my prayers, the sun came out when I finished lunch. It was just in time for my walk to the post office, some 550 meters away from the restaurant.

Walking on Jones Bridge, I couldn't help but admire the lovely view. However, locals seem used to this sight as most take it for granted. I did walk by a couple of tourists who were also taking photos.

That building is my destination. I have shared a similar photo previously via APPICS.

Looking back on the bridge, that's how far I have walked. This is one of the rare moments when I captured the bridge with hardly any vehicles passing.

Looking to the front, I'm near the foot of the bridge. This is Plaza Lawton. That's where I would be hailing a ride later.

Turning to the left takes me closer to the Manila Central Post Office.

Walking a little further, I'm moving closer to my destination.

Another slight turn to the left takes me to the corner where the main entrance to the post office will be. Next week I will feature the continuation of my walk.
