Wildfires is the concern of many country bumpkins...and speaking of pumpkins! What a harvest. But more, the hops. Hmmmmm. We have a neighbouring valley that grow hops commercially. Why? Because South Africans are big into breweries. Both making and drinking. Beer is like a national....something. I never see hops as anything but. However @generikat, you have me thinking.....

And like you, hops was only ever associated with all things beer, until I got to thinking and delving into the archives of hop usage, I might even try to distill the stuff ha ha! Mad bumpkin scientists!

While I'm quite keen on trying all sorts of creative fermented drinks and eats.....hops? I think I'll leave that to the true mad scientists. Although - shhhhhhhhhhhhhh - don't tell my brother @craigcryptoking I said that because he has a wonderful brewery going and makes amazing artisan beer. Pity he isn't closer
