After Evaluating My Splinterlands Strategy, I Made New Plans Regarding Chaos Legion

Splinterlands

I've mentioned it before, but I still suck at playing Splinterlands with the new cards. I wish I could just buy myself a maxed deck and play with all these cool abilities again, but that's something that will never happen. That doesn't mean that I'm going to leave Splinterlands and the opportunity to earn with this awesome game that has exploded in 2021. Not at all! I will just adapt my plans and make them work again. Nothing new here, I learned to adapt quickly when needed and this comes in handy when I review my plans and goals.

Rental business

Where I was super pleased with the DEC earnings on my rentals a few months ago when Chaos Legion was released this went down quickly. I assumed this would happen before it did, so I was sort of prepared. I have to admit that I wasn't prepared to see the cards drop in value as hard as they did though. I'm thinking of checking which cards are still interesting to rent out, others I hope to maybe upgrade so that they will be appealing to rent. Until then, I guess my rental income is not adding much value. I don't want to sell the cards at these prices so I'm just going to ignore the value for a while.

Priority: Chaos Legion general sale!

I have to admit that I didn't realise Chaos Legion general sale was so close until last week. I was so focused on the other Hive goals that I forgot to include an investment strategy for chaos legion next week. Although I really would love to be able to buy 100 packs at once for the bonus packs, I have to be realistic that I can't have it all. I'm doing super well with my other targets but can't just magically have an extra bag of funds appear by next week. I accepted this, and I decided to not focus on buying 100 packs at once but go for a few packs each day maybe. I have to decide next week how many exactly, so I will give that some thoughts this week.

Instead of opening them, I'm going to hold them and first see how quickly these packs are being sold. I may just never open them at all and wait for them to sell out. That's if I can hold on to them without touching them, lol. It probably helps that the packs that I've opened in the first round of the sale were quite shitty, so the average was not worth the price I paid.

I will probably aim to buy in more when Riftwatchers goes live and hope that these Vouchers will not be needed after all. Either way, I think the smartest move to earn more in Splinterlands is by buying packs (as many as I can afford) and then holding them. Prices in the rental market are not worth renting out anyway (for me), I suck at playing, so this remains.

Stacking SPS as much as I can

The other thing that is going to plan is upping my SPS stake. I'm determined to hit the 10000 SPS target rather sooner than later and I'm constantly compounding my farming rewards and airdrop plus buying extra bags of SPS when I can. I want to take full advantage of the price being this low and the time left for the daily airdrop. So thankfully, there's also this aspect of Splinterlands where I can earn a bit of passive income.

Let's see how things work out next week. What are your plans? Are you going all-in on the general sale? Leave a comment if you like to share your plans.

Can you please recommend a post that explains what Splinterlands is?

The whole concept: How to play, what to do etc.

Might be good to open them one by one when you have potions as they give more points for the airdrop.

Also, please keep in mind that the land expansion is coming and land owners need to place cards on their plots to function. This will give a lot new rental perspective to the game.

I plan also to buy a few more packs and open them slowly. Still have Untamed and Dice packs in my bag.

Thanks for the land reminder as that is indeed something that I never take into account because I don't have any.

I yet have to decide what to do when I have packs, maybe I will do so slowly, but either way, I want to have some stacked up for when it sells out. Even more so with the rumours that it will sell out very fast.

You have diamond hands! Untamed and Dice! I will check the market as I'm quite curious to see how much these sell for nowadays.

Nice 10x there! I believe on average, these 10x may be more valuable than opening them. But we'll see. I do have some nice rewards pending in the next week, I may be able to buy a few right when general sale launches.

I would be careful waiting to buy your packs. I am not saying for sure they will sell out on day one, but my original prediction was the first 48 hours. There is an incredibly high demand and it will likely jam up the servers in the first few hours after the gen sale goes live. Food for thought.

Ideally, that would have been the approach at first, but as I don't have unlimited funds available, I will have to deal with what I can and if that means fewer packs, so be it. I read these predictions and rumours about whales buying them up. And if so, too bad, hoping that I have at least a bunch of them :)

I'm itching to open my packs but I'm trying my best to stay strong and not open them hahaha. I've got 110 waiting! I'm going to see if I can swing another 110 in the general sale but I don't think I can get to 400 HBD before that time lol

Riftwatchers will certainly be an interesting time! Hopefully I can get some good deals on that as well, stacking my SPS in preparation for that now!

oh wow good for you, not opening those 110!
I let go of that thought, buying 100 at once. Not sure yet if I will buy as many as I can day one or that I will just hope that they will be available for at least a few weeks and buy several each day from post payouts.

I did stack a few hundred extra SPS in the past days, so my voucher drop goes up, I'm trying to save them until they are worth enough to sell at once, or worst case, use them for riftwatchers so I can join in immediately without buying extra vouchers but still count for those airdrops.

We'll see how it works out.

I too need to go through my Chaos Legion cards to see which ones might be good to rent out. I am not playing the game so I might as well get a return that way. I only bought 20 packs of Chaos and opened them all at once. I got a few nice cards so maybe renting will be the way to go. Great to be flexible and make adjustments in our plans as needed.

My experience is that even a single CL legendary isn't really interesting to rent out. At this moment, that is. Apparently when land expansions come out, rental business will be more appealing. I used to earn 300-600 dec each day for my rentals and now it's down to 44. It;'s not even worth checking the market and adapt the prices, I ignore it currently. Too much work for so little return.

I think I will end up buying packs, and hold them. But I have to see how many I can buy. :)

I go in to claim and stake my little airdrops every day and the card I have is renting pretty steadily. I am pretty sure I could earn more if I had the patience to learn how to play the game. I will just keep an eye on it to see where things go. I am pretty relaxed because I haven't put a more than I can afford into it. Have a great day! 😀

I am with you on that, but since I had the money last year I bought one of the CL Summoner and monster 👹 (fire) and they are still the guys I hold still date on my rentals they give free 🍗chicken change lol😁. and I just don't know how to hold on to CL packs without opening them so it might a while before I learn how to hold them 😅

I am with you, Chaos Legion devastated my gameplay not that I was anything to talk about before, I did manage to make some nice progress, and just when I started feeling confidant boom a bunch of new stuff to learn.
I have decided to take it nice and slow, pick up packs when I can, and level up my summoners and monsters as much as possible.

Hear hear!

Although I didn't manage the progress yet I haven't been able to spend real time on it either as with just a daily quest every few days, it will not improve.

Good luck upping your game, I will mostly focus on the earning side without playing (for now) as it's also too much of a distraction currently to play a game that I suck at while I Have so many other things I can focus on that make me happy and earn me a few bucks.

I have some friends that have never played Splinterlands but they make daily income renting out their cards. Amazing a person can make money from a game they never played.

Yes, that's pretty cool isn't it? It doesn't really matter if you like the game, you can still earn from it.
