Not enough upvotes? What do you do?
I vote most every day on Hive.
Before the List Nerds Relaunch I was having a little trouble giving full votes.
Now after reading numerous mails every day with many of the posts having links to Hive I cant leave full upvotes as much as I would like on Hive.
To deal with this I have had to reduce my voting power to accommodate all of the upvotes.
I try to upvote comments on my post's first because I want people to feel rewarded for commenting.
Even then I am finding that I have to lower my voting power.
I suppose If I was a whale I wouldn't have this problem. I have only staked about 300 Hive so far so my full vote is only worth .01 Hive but still it is nice to do a full vote.
I am staking every month but I don't know how long it will take to increase my vote.
If I let vote power get down to 80% it takes a full day to recharge.
right now I am voting at about 20% to be able to vote on all the posts.
How do you deal with not having enough voting power?
Buy and power up more Hive ;)

I am currently just doing lower %. Not sure if that will change in the near future.
Ya that is what I am doing also. It just takes time to build up the HP.

I have focused on other tokens like OneUP where I have a .25 vote. My .003 hive upvote is generally below the dust level unless left on full post and not comments.
300 hive for .01 I have a long ways to go before it will mean much.

It depends but I try to keep mine above 80%. As you are not passing the dust threshold, I don't think it really matters as much what percent you use. However, increasing your HP won't solve this issue as you only get 20% every 24 hours. Just find a good balance that works for you and you can always give some 2nd layer tokens to people instead (base don your HE stake).
Finding balance seems to be the solution for a lot of things in life.

Like jongolson said, the only way to increase your votingpower fast is buy and stake more hive. Focusing on HE layer 2 tokens is probably a faster way to reward users for their comments.

Ya I use level two tokens a lot. maybe I will focus on them more
I have almost the same HP as you. Since the day I discovered the importance of the voting power bar, it struggled to reach 50%. Since the vote value of my vote is so small, I still vote 100% all the time. But if my voting bar is too low, I just used tipping tokens instead. Before I have been upvoting posts of top influencers on Hive. Now, I am using at least 50% of my voting power to search for newbies' posts as a way of telling them that they are not alone.

I use to feel the same way. Only a few people or a few posts get 100 percent upvote from me now. Not because I dislike other posts, and if I see a post I truly love I will try for the 100 upvote. As you can see I voted this post at 10 percent. I vote most comments at 8 percent. I also have autovote set on my curation trail and with 87 members now 100 percent upvoting is out of the question.
All that being said, how do I deal with it? I had to rap my head around the fact that people should be thankful for any upvote they get, not what you are giving.
We are all in the same boat. Whale or red fish. Only difference is the value of the vote monetary wise not the percentage wise.

Like yourself, I just use a lower %. I would like to take a couple of days off to let it recharge but that is costly. Thanks for your questions and all those that responded.
That's the part I don't like. The waiting for the recharge.
As I delegated to the listnerds account, I started to notice my vp was drained as well. Therefore I lowered it to 500 HP delegation as well as comments will now receive 1% standard and posts 30%. It depends on my voting behavior of that day if I up these percentages, at least this way I can't accidentally drain it by voting 15 posts at 100% :) It's something you can set in Peakd.com settings btw, in case you didn't know. Not one solid answer for everyone here, it depends on your engagement as well as power etc. Just play around with it. You can check Hivestats.io/@alente for useful stats insights of your account.

I used to worry about this too but I don't anymore. I have done more upvoting also because of all the post I reach because of ListNerds.
My vote is only worth 0.03 hive and I have close to 1000 hive power and it's been like this ever since I had about 500 hp.
What I do is not worry about it and set my vote @ 50% and just vote anyway. When I can I leave a comment and a tip of Pizza, Beer, Luv, or Wine. I know it's not much but I'm trying to make it more about commenting & curating several times a day so when I do have enough HP and become a whale it'll all work out for me and the blogger in the end.

Buy CTP. That's what I do. Purchase and stake HIVE. I vote 100% on everything, even comments, so if my vp is above 50% I'm doing well, it's usually between 20 - 40%
