By the way today is the first day of October and the first day of every month on the Hive blockchain is a special day because it is Power Up Day.
Power Up Day: Initiatives, Badges and Giveaway
On Hive doing Power Up during Power Up Day allows you to participate in several initiatives that have prizes and badges up for grabs.
Below I introduce some wonderful initiatives and invite my readers to participate and support the great users of Hive who organize them.
I start with the most famous initiative called HivePUD.
HivePUD
HivePUD is the code name for the Hive Power Up Day initiative.
Power Up Day (HivePUD) is an initiative originally created by @streetstyle and carried on by @traciyork.
All Hive users can take part in the Hive Power Up Day initiative but only those who meet certain requirements can win prizes.

The requirements at a glance that you must meet to participate in the HivePUD initiative are as follows:
- you must make a Power Up of at least 10 HIVE (HIVE -> HP) by today, October 1 (UTC time) and you must write and publish a post showing your Power UP and you must use the tag #HivePUD
- your Hive Power must be higher than 100 HP and lower than 8000 HP.
- your reputation must be above 39 and below 70.
The coolest aspect of this initiative, which I really like, is that the Hive users who do the biggest Power UP in terms of percentage and not in terms of absolute value are rewarded.
For example, a hiver who has 100 HP and does a Power UP of 20 HIVE (+20%) is more probable to receive an award than someone who has 7000 HP and does a Power UP of 700 HIVE (+10%).
My reputation is over 73 and I have over 18000 Hive Power in my wallet so I'm not eligible to participate but favoring small and new Hive users is a really cool thing and shows what a beautiful and strong community Hive is.
Hivebuzz and the Power Up Day
The @hivebuzz account supports Power Up Day and incentivizes users who do a Power Up on the first of each month in two ways:
- a badge at https://hivebuzz.me/.
- a delegation in Hive Power.
If you don't know the site https://hivebuzz.me/ I invite you to look at it because there are a lot of useful data and information about every Hive account.
The badge of the HIVEBUZZ site
The "Power Up Day" badge of the hivebuzz site has a symbolic and not economic value.

Thanks to the Power Up I made today I will receive my 10th "Power Up Day" badge (my 8th consecutive monthly badge).
The delegations by @hivebuzz
The @hivebuzz account not only rewards those who complete a Power Up on the first of each month with a badge, it also rewards those who have completed 5 consecutive Power Up Days in the last 5 months with a delegation of a certain amount of HP.

The Giveaway of @forykw: Hive Power Delegations
User @forykw has organized a giveaway that will randomly reward three users with three different HP delegations:
- 9999 HP Delegation for two weeks
- 500 HP Delegation for one month
- 100 HP Delegation for one month
You can participate in this initiative if you have:
- less than 4000 Hive Power
- written at least one comment in the last 3 months

How to Power Up

You can do Power Up from the wallet section of one of the many Dapps in the Hive ecosystem such as from:

I use the wallet section of PeakD (https://peakd.com/) to make Power Up.
Below I show you the simple steps to convert a certain amount of HIVE into Hive Power (HP).
Step 1: Login to https://peakd.com/.
I recommend you to login using Hive Keychain extension : https://hive-keychain.com/
Step 2: Click on the top right hand side, on the down arrow next to your Hive username, a drop down menu will open where you need to click on the Wallet menu item (follow the arrow directions in the image below).
Step 3: In the wallet section of Peakd you have to click on the downward pointing arrow below the amount of liquid HIVE tokens (HIVE) you have in your possession (Arrow number 1 in the following image).
Then you must click on the Power Up option as indicated by arrow number 2 in the following image.
Step 4: On the next screen you need to enter the amount of HIVE to convert to Hive Power and then you need to click on the CONTINUE button (follow the indications of the numbered arrows in the following image).
HIVE -> HP conversion is really a very simple operation!

Why do Power Up?
Hive is a DPOS blockchain and staking activity (Hive Power) is very incentivized and also very beneficial because a higher amount of Hive Power corresponds to:
- a higher voting weight
- greater earnings from curation activities
- greater decision-making power (Choice of proposals to be funded (DHF) and Choice of Witnesses)
- a greater amount of Resource Credits
My Power Up
Today I converted 50 liquid HIVE into 50 Hive Power.
I started writing this post this morning and wanted to publish it earlier but then I had work commitments that didn't allow me to do it sooner.
If today you haven't yet done a Power Up and you want to participate to the initiatives I listed above you are still in time because you still have more than four hours to do Power Up ;)

Di seguito introduco alcune stupende iniziative e invito i miei lettori a partecipare e a supportare i grandi utenti di Hive che le organizzano.
Parto dall'iniziativa più famosa che si chiama HivePUD.
HivePUD
HivePUD è il nome in codice dell'iniziativa Hive Power Up Day.
Il Power Up Day (HivePUD) è un'iniziativa creata inizialmente da @streetstyle e portata avanti da @traciyork.
Tutti gli utenti di Hive possono prendere parte all'iniziativa Hive Power Up Day ma solo chi ha determinati requisiti può vincere dei premi.

I requisiti in sintesi per partecipare all'iniziativa HivePUD sono i seguenti:
- devi fare un Power Up di almeno 10 HIVE (HIVE -> HP) entro oggi 1 ottobre (orario UTC) e devi scrivere e pubblicare un post in cui mostri il tuo Power UP e devi usare il tag #HivePUD
- il tuo Hive Power deve essere superiore a 100 HP e inferiore a 8000 HP
- la tua reputazione deve essere superiore al valore 39 e inferiore al valore 70
L'aspetto più bello di questa iniziativa, che mi piace molto, è che vengono premiati gli utenti di Hive che fanno il Power UP più grande in termini di percentuale e non in termini di valore assoluto.
Ad esempio chi ha 100 HP e fa un Power UP di 20 HIVE (+20%) ha più probabilità di ricevere un premio rispetto a chi ha 7000 HP e fa un Power UP di 700 HIVE (+10%).
La mia reputazione è superiore al valore di 73 e ho nel mio wallet più di 18000 Hive Power e quindi non ho i requisiti per partecipare ma favorire i piccoli e nuovi utenti di Hive è davvero una cosa bella e mostra quanto Hive sia una bella e forte comunità.
Hivebuzz e il Power Up Day
L'account @hivebuzz supporta il Power Up Day e incentiva gli utenti che effettuano un Power Up il primo di ogni mese in due modi:
- un badge sul sito https://hivebuzz.me/.
- una delega in Hive Power.

Puoi fare Power Up dalla sezione wallet di una delle tante Dapp dell'ecosistema di Hive come ad esempio da:

Io per fare Power Up uso la sezione wallet di PeakD (https://peakd.com/).
Di seguito ti mostro i semplici passi da eseguire per convertire un certo quantitativo di HIVE in Hive Power (HP).
Passo 1: Fai il login sul sito https://peakd.com/
Ti consiglio di effettuare l'operazione di login l'estensione Hive Keychain : https://hive-keychain.com/
Passo 2: Clicca in alto a destra sulla freccetta rivolta verso il basso di fianco al tuo nome utente di Hive, si aprirà un menu a tendina nel quale devi cliccare sulla scritta Wallet (segui le indicazioni delle frecce nell'immagine seguente).
Passo 3: All'interno della sezione wallet di Peakd devi cliccare sulla freccetta rivolta verso il basso sotto all'indicazione del quantitativo dei token HIVE liquidi (HIVE) che hai in tuo possesso (Freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente).
Poi devi cliccare sull'opzione Power Up come indicato dalla freccia numero 2 nell'immagine seguente.
Passo 4: Nella schermata successiva devi inserire il quantitativo di HIVE da convertire in Hive Power e poi devi cliccare sul CONTINUE (segui le indicazioni delle frecce numerate nell'immagine seguente).
L'operazione di conversione HIVE -> HP è davvero un'operazione molto semplice!

Perchè fare Power Up
Hive è una blockchain DPOS e l'attività di staking (Hive Power) è molto incentivata e anche molto vantaggiosa perchè ad un quantitativo di Hive Power maggiore corrisponde:
- un maggiore peso di voto
- un maggiore guadagno dall'attività di curation
- un maggiore potere decisionale (Scelta proposte da finanziare (DHF) e Scelta Testimoni)
- un maggior quantitativo di Resource Credits
Il mio Power Up
Oggi ho convertito 50 HIVE liquidi in 50 Hive Power.
Ho iniziato a scrivere questo post questa mattina e volevo pubblicarlo prima ma poi ho avuto impegni lavorativi che non mi hanno permesso di farlo prima.
Se oggi non hai ancora fatto un Power Up e vuoi partecipare alle iniziative che ti ho elencato sopra sei ancora in tempo perchè hai ancora più di quattro ore a disposizione per fare Power Up ;)
Per me fare Power Up su Hive è in assoluto il modo migliore per iniziare il mese!

Per partecipare hai bisogno di solo 10 HIVE quindi puoi decidere tu cosa fare...per partecipare ai premi conta la percentuale del tuo power up e quindi valuta tu se ti conviene fare un power up grande il primo del mese o farlo prima e aumentare il tuo HP e di conseguenza le tue curation rewards.
Se visiti i profili degli organizzatori delle varie iniziative che ho indicato nel post puoi renderti conto dei premi e delle classifiche e regolarti di conseguenza ;)
